My Trip to a Catholic Monastery in the Caribbean

I recently took a trip to one of the oldest and still in use Monasteries in the Caribbean today. About a 15 minute drive from my University, this is Mount St. Benedict’s Monastery. It also produces yogurt which is halaal for the Muslims to consume. The experience was very pleasant. The location is very eerie and cold (high up a mountain), and the roads leading to it are winding and very dangerous. We had a lot of fun at the Monastery though. We mostly took pictures while my Christian friends prayed, then they took pictures too. Very few people were here and when the time for Mass came (as indicated by the schedule photo below), it was mostly empty.

Apparently you can leave letters for St. Benedict to read and then grant your wishes miraculously, this was odd.

10 Christian Riddles

Riddles, questions, thoughts, I wonder what the answers to these would be? These aren’t meant to be insulting, and we do apologize if they seem to be so, these are just honest inquiries into the Christian faith.

  1. If God is love (1 John 4:8), why are babies sent to burn in hell forever if they’re not baptised? How is this ‘loving’?
  2. If Mary is the Mother of God and believers are told to Brides of Christ (Revelation 19:7), is the Mother of God, also his bride?
  3. Is God a sexist for coming in the form of a man? Why not as a woman?
  4. Is God racist for coming as an Israelite, why not as an African, or Indian?
  5. If humans are literally created in the image of God, is the Christian God a hermaphrodite?
  6. Why does Christ not speak of a punishment for rape, murder or incest? Since the gentiles aren’t meant to follow the Mitzvot – they live under grace and not the law, why didn’t Christ mention that these things were sins or crimes, or even mention their punishments?
  7. Where does God speak of the hypostatic union in the Old Testament or the New Testament?
  8. Where did Christ command Christians to believe in the Trinity, Hypostatic Union or Crucifiction in order to be saved?
  9. If Christ has two wills (human and Godly), how do you determine which act was done with Godly intent and which was done with human intent?
  10. Where does Christ teach that he has two wills?

Answers are welcomed, I’m sure there are some who can give some interesting responses.

Sam Shamoun Admits He Cannot Debate Muslims

For a number of years, many Muslim speakers, including myself – have duly indicated that Sam Shamoun is unable to discuss a point coherently. We could be speaking about McDonalds and the guy would go off on a 3 hour rant insulting and cursing the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). For a long time, we all assumed he did this intentionally because he simply could not and was unwilling to discuss any other topic. It’s quite normal for an uneducated person to discuss topics he lacks knowledge upon, usually to divert a discussion away from a topic, you create a straw man and attack it. In Sam’s case, you could be discussing fruits and he’d bring our Prophet up, you could be asking about creedal heresies and he’d bring up the Prophet, you could ask the guy about his daughters and he’d bring the Prophet up. Finally, he’s admitted that he does this intentionally:

Jesus had a God, a reply to Paul Bilal Williams from Sam Shamoun Badmanna's Blog

Muslims are not afraid of debating scam Shamoun, after all, many of us have engaged him. Yet, as Sam himself has admitted, he’s unwilling to have a moderated discussion with Muslims, for if they speak on anything, regardless of the topic, he’d abuse the Islamic Prophet. As a Christian, I ask, how would you feel if every time you attempted to speak to a Muslim, he had only nasty and vile comments about Jesus the Christ. Wouldn’t that off put you on discussing anything with Muslims? Similarly, Muslims aren’t afraid of Sam, we’re just not willing to listen to a Christian sit and abuse our Prophet, it’s a common courtesy that if you’re having an inter-religious discourse, you try to respectfully convey your disagreements, but you do not intentionally go out of your way to abuse and mock the other persons’s faith.

Sam Shamoun is a class below human, he’s unwilling to show respect to anyone, with beliefs that differ with Christians, yet he demands that non-Christians/ infidels respect his beliefs. As Muslims we treat Christ with utmost respect and love, but Shamoun is unwilling to behave in an adult manner and this is why no Muslim speaker in the debate circuit has been willing to grant him a stage. For as Shamoun himself has admitted, regardless of the topic, time, place, his only goal is to abuse our Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him).  I now thank Shamoun for demonstrating to both the Muslim and Christian public, what Muslims have been saying for a long time, no one’s afraid of debating him, he’s just unwilling to be debated.

Sam remains in our prayers, we continue to call for ABN TV and for Sam Shamoun to make public the use of the donation monies provided to them, which to our knowledge, have gone into the pockets of Sam and his cohorts for personal use and not for ministry use. Not only does he insult and mock Muslims, he uses donation money from ABN TV for his personal gain. We call upon Sam to prove us wrong by having both ABN TV and his own accounts audited and the results made public. If not, then ask yourselves where your donation money has been going.

and God knows best.

Sam Shamoun’s Minion is as Uneducated as He Is

I’m not sure what I expected, but I’m now beginning to realise why many refer to Sam’s entourage/ group of minions as graduates of clown college. In discussing the age of our Mother ‘Aisha (may Allaah be pleased with her), I demonstrated quite simply that she herself admitted to having been in the state of puberty, i.e. sexual maturation – that is to no longer be a child but to now be a young adult in relation to her marriage with the Prophet (peace be upon him).

I indicated in the hadeeth it literally mentions her reaching puberty:

Narrated ‘Aisha {ra}: (the wife of the Prophet) I had seen my parents following Islam since I attained the age of puberty. Not a day passed but the Prophet visited us, both in the mornings and evenings. My father Abii Bakr thought of building a mosque in the courtyard of his house and he did so. He used to pray and recite the Qur’an in it. The pagan women and their children used to stand by him and look at him with surprise. Abu Bakr was a soft hearted person and could not help weeping while reciting the Quran. The chiefs of the Quraish pagans became afraid of that (i.e. that their children and women might be affected by the recitation of Quran).” – Sahih Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 8 :: Hadith 465.

The hadeeth itself says:

” زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَتْ لَمْ أَعْقِلْ”

That the wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him) gathered or attained the age of reasoning, i.e. puberty. Age of reasoning is a euphemism in almost all known languages to refer to a child entering into a state of adulthood/ sexual maturation, the definition is provided here:

The age at which a child is considered capable of acting responsibly.

Under Common Law, seven was the age of reason. Children under the age of seven were conclusively presumed incapable of committing a crime because they did not possess the reasoning ability to understand that their conduct violated the standards of acceptable community behavior. Those between the ages of seven and fourteen were presumed incapable of committing a crime, but this presumption could be overcome by evidence, such as the child having possession of the gun immediately after the shooting. The rebuttable presumption for this age group was based on the assumption that, as the child grew older, he or she learned to differentiate between right and wrong. A child over the age of fourteen was considered to be fully responsible for his or her actions. Many states have modified the age of criminal responsibility by statute.

Unfortunately, the owner of the blog at which Sam is currently frustrating himself over me on, made this comment:

The moral perfection of Christ proves that he is God. A post by Sam Shamoun. Badmanna's Blog (1)

Note, obviously this isn’t what I said, what I did say is that it is commonly known that children are not responsible for their actions until they are baligh or mature, i.e. attained puberty. Thus when puberty occurs, by this time, they can exercise their mental faculties to differentiate between right and wrong, hence why it is also known as the age of reasoning. Apparently, according to this highly educated individual, who has quite funnily, never seen this term before, assumed I was demeaning women. Guess he needs to read a science, law or political book or two. Just goes to show that clowns really do attract each other. Now I’m stuck here wondering why I’m arguing with individuals who can’t comprehend basic terms taught in High School….

Let’s remember for a second that Sam Shamoun is an Iraqi Assyrian immigrant to the USA, whose been writing about Islam for about more than 15 years, I’ve just only began to write about Islam. It must be very embarrassing for him to be experiencing this whooping.

and Allaah knows best.

Sam Shamoun Blows his Fuse

I seem to have pissed of Sam quite a lot, for every one comment I post in response to him, he goes on a rampage and posts 8 responses! That’s an 8 to 1 ratio of anger. Can you imagine, an adult man spending hours on the internet arguing with someone half his age, while sending 8 comments for every one comment response? If you think I’m exaggerating, here’s the evidence:

The moral perfection of Christ proves that he is God. A post by Sam Shamoun. Badmanna's Blog

The guy just can’t control himself. I ask him one question and he engulfs himself in a rage fueled frenzy to the point that he just doesn’t stop writing and replying endlessly. Whether you are a fan of him or not, don’t you think that his reaction to a single question about his academic qualifications versus that of Dr. Ally’s is a tad bit too extreme? He could have simply said he was dishonest in his claim, admitted his wrong and moved on. Instead, he’s seemed to have unleashed all the frustrations, problems, issues he’s been having personally unto me.

sam shamoun

Psychologically speaking, as a peer counselor myself, Sam’s mental stability seems to hang on the fringes of human normalcy. In his case, his displaced anger is disproportionate to the events ongoing, which would imply that he’s projecting his frustrations upon an innocent individual (in psychology this is referred to as scapegoating, see: displaced anger). It’s common to see this problem with persons who have or are developing bouts of depression, in his case it could be from the fact that his apologetics career has ended and his only appearances are now on no named blogs. His disproportionate response also shows signs of multiple personality disorder, he created several user accounts to appear as if it was not him who wrote some other insulting comments about me. What this means is that Sam Shamoun’s mental health is very fragile, he’s unable to control his anger which has manifested itself into various streams of subconscious projection, whether that be through creating multiple user accounts in pretending to not be himself, or to writing excessive amounts of responses etc.

These are all hallmarks of an individual attempting to cope with the reality that is life, but unable to manifest himself into using normal control mechanisms. I, along with several Christians who have been victims of Sam’s projected and displaced anger – all call upon him to see a psychologist before he loses himself to dementia. It’s a sad reality to face, but our prayers are with Sam.

and God knows best.

A Message from one of Shamoun’s Fans

Found this message on our Facebook Fan Page (Sam’s been around for 10+ years, I’ve been around for less than 2 and I’ve already got more followers on Facebook than he has, what a shame!).

1 Calling Christians

Let’s examine what a fan of Shamoun presents as a ‘proper’ Christian:

  • Begins a sentence by insulting an individual he does not know.
  • Insults a person’s beliefs because he disagrees.
  • Believes that Sam Shamoun has not, and never will be wrong – deifying him to a great degree!
  • Repeats calling names and insults.
  • Challenges me to debate Sam Shamoun.
  • Calls me names once more.

Hi there Loius! Unlike you or Sam, I don’t need to insult your Prophets or mock your beliefs when I communicate with members of other faiths. I’m not sure where you learned your decorum, but it seems you’ve taken on some of Sam’s attributes and mannerisms. In the adult world, we don’t call people names, we don’t curse or insult their beliefs because we disagree – there is something called respect, something that both irreligious and religious persons abide by.

Secondly, Sam Shamoun will not debate me, he cannot debate me because he is afraid of me. I’ve sent him numerous challenges and he’s always responded by insulting me and ignoring the challenge. So while I’m not afraid to confront Shamoun, he’s very wary and afraid of me. If you don’t believe this, you can ask Shamoun to take an oath by God (see Psalm 63:11) and let him show you the numerous email challenges I’ve sent him. You need to ask why he runs from Muslim challenges, especially my own.

Thirdly, Sam has been refuted by many persons, in fact, he’s been solidly debunked by me many times, I even have an entire section dedicated to responding to him. He is very easy to refute and I’m being quite honest when I say that no educated Muslim takes Sam seriously, in fact, his articles are sometimes used in some circles to teach children just how awfully he misrepresents Islam – if children can learn what Islam isn’t from Sam’s articles, it goes to show you that he is of very little worth.

Lastly, I will gladly take up your challenge, unfortunately, Sam will not endorse it. He will not debate me, because he knows that he cannot, hence why he is unable to respond to any of my articles refuting his writings.

wa Allaahu ‘Alam.

How I Used Sam Shamoun to Spread Islam

Meet Sam Shamoun:

cc-shamoun-idiot

He writes about Islam and Christianity, has a GED, a family, hosts a few programs on a donation funded satellite station and hates Muslims. Sam is unusual, he mostly copies other people’s works, uses archaic arguments and has a fascination with mocking, cursing and abusing Muslims. Despite his personality flaws, and his lack of academic ability, he’s a pretty awful Christian missionary. He’s very predictable, something which I’ve used to my advantage many times.

Yesterday I decided to use Sam for the sake of Islam, something I’ve done a number of times before, and like a baby to its mother’s milk, Sam delivered exactly what I wanted. I called Sam out on one of his really childish claims, and in knowing he’d be unable to control his anger (yes, he has many anger issues), I knew he’d respond. So as I intended, Sam responded by posting my website’s link on his Facebook page, thus leading hundreds of unknowing Christians to this very website.

In a matter of hours, I went from having a normal amount of views, to having Sam send hundreds of Christians to read material critical of Christianity. See, I’ve learned that Sam is thick headed and very egoistic, combined with his lack of self control and flowery language, he’s very easy to manipulate when you want free advertising. I saved a ton of money by not paying for ads on Facebook and by having Sam advertise this website, multiple times on several blogs and his Facebook fan page.

With this having been said, I’ve really got to thank Sam, I now have Christians perusing this website and God willing, it’ll lead them out of the shackles of Graeco-Roman paganism and into Abrahamic Monotheism.

and Allaah knows best.

Sam Shamoun Concedes to Being an Uneducated Charlatan

In my last post, I asked Sam Shamoun to defend his claim that Dr. Shabir is a ‘charlatan’, seeing as Dr. Shabir has the requisite academic qualifications in theology, whereas Sam only has a GED (a certificate for those who were unable to graduate or complete High School). How can a man with no academic qualifications in theology, refer to a man with those qualifications as a ‘charlatan’?

Sam did respond, but predictably he indicated that the Muslim Prophet – Muhammad (peace be upon him) was also illiterate. Now, I’m not saying Sam is the sharpest tool in the shed, but:

(a) What does my Prophet (peace be upon him) have to do with your inability to defend your statements?
(b) How is committing the tu quoque fallacy (it generally can be understood to mean: well so do you! or you too!) answering my question?
(c) It follows from (a) that it is a straw man and thus is discarded.
(d) It follows from (b) that he can’t grasp the question I asked since he never responded to it.

So all in all, Sam’s defense for being unable to not declare himself a charlatan is to attack a straw man while using the playground argument of so do you! Come on Sam, you’re a grown man, you have two kids, you’re dealing with adults here – there’s a difference between dealing with kids and dealing with adults. We’re not interested in your playground politics. I kindly ask that you answer my question concerning your statements without rabid ranting by way of name calling and insults. It might be suitable for when you’re dealing with kids, but in the grown up world you’ll have to do much better than that!

What’s interesting is that, I can understand that my Prophet (peace be upon him) was a human, so him not knowing everything is alright, it’s not an insult – even though Sam thinks so. I have no problem is saying my Prophet (peace be upon him) was a human. However, Sam does have a problem as the Bible does teach that God was ignorant, is ignorant:

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. – Matthew 24:36.

While we can agree, a human lacking knowledge is normal, God lacking knowledge is drastically worse, exponentially shameful. Sure Sam can go around saying our Prophet didn’t know everything, that’s okay, because he isn’t God. Yet, he should feel ashamed though to go around claiming his God doesn’t have the knowledge He’s supposed to have – that’s hilarious, an ignorant and unknowing God!

and Allaah knows best.

Sam Shamoun Insults Dr. Ally

Recently, it came to my attention that Sam Shamoun issued these public statements about Dr. Ally:

Sam Shamoun (1)

To quote him, “Ally is nothing more than a charlatan masquerading as a peaceful, loving Muslim apologist“, a charlatan is hereby defined according to Webster’s College Dictionary as, “a person who pretends to special knowledge or skill that he or she does not possess; quack; fraud.” Let’s just do a quick comparison:

Dr. Shabir Ally:

  • B.A. in Religious Studies from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, with a specialization in Biblical Literature.
  •  M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Toronto with a specialization in Quranic Exegesis.
  • Doctorate in Quranic Exegesis from the University of Toronto.

Sam Shamoun:

I’m not sure, but given the comparison of academic qualifications – it would seem that Dr. Shabir is a highly qualified individual with degrees from internationally respected tertiary educational institutions, while Sam has nothing to his name. It would seem therefore, that the charlatan is Sam Shamoun himself. It isn’t surprising to see Sam Shamoun attacking Dr. Shabir, after all, Sam who has no academic qualifications would naturally be jealous of a person who supersedes him significantly. I call upon Sam Shamoun to list his academic qualifications by any accredited tertiary institution to prove that he is not a charlatan and can match the qualifications of Dr. Shabir Ally.

He’s just an angry individual who cannot control his urges to insult others who simply are beyond his level of intelligence.

and God knows best.
