Debate: James White vs Sami Zataari, “Was Christ Crucified?” – Video

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ,

MDI has finally released their video of Sami’s debate with James. For a quick review, if you’ve ever heard James speak, then expect nothing new from him. Sami responded well, kept up with James, easily nullified James’ arguments and ran rings around the Alpha and Omega Ministry man:

wa Allaahu Alam,
and Allaah knows best.

  • i don’t know if this is relevant to this debate but new testament is proof that people thought OTHERS could appear in other faces. john the baptist was thought to be jesus. why? because they thought john the baptist had come back to life in jesus’ face. elijah was thought to be jesus because the of the same reason for john the baptist. mary m thought jesus was a gardner in johns account. according to matthew she immediately recognised jesus and grabbed his foot. the deciples CONVERSED with jesus for hours and were UNABLE to recognise him. the point is that in this culture mistaken IDENTITY was a problem. no deciple WITNESSED any of the conversations between pilate and jesus (aN argument the christians use against muhammad that he was the ONLY witness) no deciples saw jesus receving a drubbing, because they legged it. look @ the memories of the mary m, SHE IS TOLD that jesus is going AHEad OF HER to galilee and that she should tell peter…
she goes off to tell peter that “they have robbed jesus’ body and i don’t know where they have put him”

she CLINGS TO this belief even AFTER she converses with the gardner called jesus.

these are your eyewitnesses to the crucifixion?

  • “It is rather because Mark’s story is all about the failure of everyone around Jesus to understand his mission, to follow his instructions, and to do his will.

    Kelber explains:

The disciples’ disobedience, as well as that of the women, does not damage Jesus’ credibility for the readers [contra Petersen]. Quite the opposite: the readers are to follow, where the disciples have failed. (p. 220)

And make no mistake; we’re talking total, colossal, abject failure here — with chapter 16 dealing the final blow.

Overcome by trembling, astonishment, and fear, [the women] flee. . . . As a result, the disciples, who had been absent at the crucifixion and have remained ignorant of the resurrection, never learn that the signal has been given for the reunion with the resurrected one. They are thereby effectively eliminated as apostolic representatives of the risen Lord. (p. 129)”

mark wrote his gospel not for the readers to follow the deciples WHO FAILED jesus, but to do the OPPOSITE of what the deciples did.
