Da’wah is more than writing articles….

There is a misconception that da’wah/islah involves simply ‘spreading the message of Islam’, whether through articles, videos, or conversations. Da’wah or Islah is much more than this. As a da’ee, I don’t see myself as just an author or Muslim speaker, I recognize that I bear the responsibility of serving the worldwide community, because as a Muslim I must follow my Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him and his family and his companions), and seeing as he is titled a ‘mercy to mankind’ by the Creator Himself:

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
And We have not sent thee except as a mercy unto the Worlds. – Qur’aan 21:107.

Therefore, I have joined many humanitarian causes and today I am proud to announce that I’ve attended a workshop that has certified me in attending to Domestic Violence victims, this has given me the tools and the knowledge the counsel, reach out to and care for victims while they recover or seek help from this traumatic societal ill:

cc-2013-dvcertificate

For security and privacy purposes my name has been crossed out. I intend to use this certificate as I become more active in the Muslim community and as I take upon the responsibility as a peer counselor at my University. As a Muslim, it is my responsibility to love, care and protect my fellow brothers and sisters in the world, from any harm or ill will. Remember, da’wah and islah isn’t just to speak kind words or produce new arguments, we do da’wah and islah because we want to benefit mankind and make a lasting change in the lives of people everywhere.

Priests and Non-Muslim Caucasian Men Caught in Major Canadian Child Porn Ring

Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller, David Wood and other ‘educated‘ (read as: sophists) Islamophobes won’t be mentioning this anytime soon but a major bust by the Canadian Police has netted and shut down a major child pornography ring, according to the report:

At the centre of the inquiry was a Toronto-based firm that allegedly sold DVDs and streamed videos of naked children. Azov Films marketed the footage as “naturist” and claimed it was legal in Canada and the US. The films were distributed in 94 countries, police said.

In Canada 108 arrests were made, with another 76 in the US and 164 in other countries during the investigation codenamed Project Spade. Inspector Joanna Beavan-Desjardins, from Toronto police, said the number of suspects who had close contact with children was of particular concern to investigators.

Doctors, school teachers, foster carers and priests were among those detained, she said.

Surely, a Muslim must have been involved or behind this organization:

The head of Azov Films, identified as Canadian Brian Way, 42, has been in custody since his arrest in May 2011, following an undercover operation.

Nope, just another Caucasian bloke whose religion wasn’t mentioned, but surely if not involved in the production, they must have been Muslim majority countries involved in it in some way:

US investigators then joined the inquiry because many of the films were being exported to addresses in America. Seven months later, a series of raids took place across Toronto, including at a site owned by Azov Films and Brian Way, police said.

Among the other countries involved in the investigation were Australia, Spain, Mexico, South Africa, Norway, Greece and the Republic of Ireland.

I guess not. I therefore call upon Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller and David Wood to denounce the pedophilia of their religious brethren, otherwise I hold them in contempt of supporting the acts of these criminals.

Rabbi says women shouldn’t drive

Coming from the ‘only democracy‘ in the Middle East, the Times of Israel reports:

Amnon Yitzhak, renowned for convincing hordes of secular Israelis to embrace religious observance – by warning them, among other methods, of the grisly fate that awaits them in hell should they persist in their errant ways — explained that women should not operate the horseless carriage because in the past only men drove horse-drawn vehicles, Walla reported (Hebrew) on Tuesday.

Yitzhak made the assertion during a lecture last week — the report didn’t say where it took place — citing various rabbis who had all ruled, he said, that a driver’s seat was for men only.

Asked by a female member of the audience if women were nevertheless permitted to drive for a good cause, Yitzhak responded in the negative, comparing the scenario to someone who steals in order to give to charity.

“It is immodest for a woman to drive,” he asserted.

My Trip to a Catholic Monastery in the Caribbean

I recently took a trip to one of the oldest and still in use Monasteries in the Caribbean today. About a 15 minute drive from my University, this is Mount St. Benedict’s Monastery. It also produces yogurt which is halaal for the Muslims to consume. The experience was very pleasant. The location is very eerie and cold (high up a mountain), and the roads leading to it are winding and very dangerous. We had a lot of fun at the Monastery though. We mostly took pictures while my Christian friends prayed, then they took pictures too. Very few people were here and when the time for Mass came (as indicated by the schedule photo below), it was mostly empty.

Apparently you can leave letters for St. Benedict to read and then grant your wishes miraculously, this was odd.

10 Christian Riddles

Riddles, questions, thoughts, I wonder what the answers to these would be? These aren’t meant to be insulting, and we do apologize if they seem to be so, these are just honest inquiries into the Christian faith.

  1. If God is love (1 John 4:8), why are babies sent to burn in hell forever if they’re not baptised? How is this ‘loving’?
  2. If Mary is the Mother of God and believers are told to Brides of Christ (Revelation 19:7), is the Mother of God, also his bride?
  3. Is God a sexist for coming in the form of a man? Why not as a woman?
  4. Is God racist for coming as an Israelite, why not as an African, or Indian?
  5. If humans are literally created in the image of God, is the Christian God a hermaphrodite?
  6. Why does Christ not speak of a punishment for rape, murder or incest? Since the gentiles aren’t meant to follow the Mitzvot – they live under grace and not the law, why didn’t Christ mention that these things were sins or crimes, or even mention their punishments?
  7. Where does God speak of the hypostatic union in the Old Testament or the New Testament?
  8. Where did Christ command Christians to believe in the Trinity, Hypostatic Union or Crucifiction in order to be saved?
  9. If Christ has two wills (human and Godly), how do you determine which act was done with Godly intent and which was done with human intent?
  10. Where does Christ teach that he has two wills?

Answers are welcomed, I’m sure there are some who can give some interesting responses.

and God knows best.
