Sam Shamoun vs Ijaz Ahmad

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ,

Sam Shamoun tries to bully Br. Ijaz in a 30 minute ‘discussion’, where Sam speaks for 25+ minutes and Br. Ijaz only for 3 minutes. He mocked, cursed, abused, taunted, insulted, Br. Ijaz, yet the Br. kept his calm, remained collected, refuted all of Sam’s arguments and soundly debunked him, to the extent that Sam got mentally exhausted, had his recorded edit part of Br. Ijaz’s argument and both refuse to provide the raw audio! You can view the edited version of Sam’s rabid diatribe here.

  • Hi Ijaz
I listened to the whole thing and that is not true, Sam asked you on 4-5 occasions to answer his question I regards to Sura 17:1 and you didn’t really answer and then you answered me but explaining the verses that you posted.

I think his arguments were sound and I’m not convinced by the verses you posted on the debate.

  • Hey DC,

Sam asked me on atleast 10 occasions to answer several questions. First he asked what is the Sacred Mosque, when I indicated the Sacred Mosque was Masjid al Haram, he said I was lying. I proved him wrong by reciting the Arabic of the 17:1 which indicate so.

Then he asked where Masjid al Haram is, I gave 48:24-25, 27 in response which clearly states that in Makkah, Masjid al Haram is located. So for you to say I did not answer or that my answer is not sufficient is pure dishonesty.

Not that I expect anything better from you, given your commenting history and your agenda, I can’t imagine you’d ever say I ‘answered’ anything. Sorry DC, but defending Sam’s illiteracy isn’t going to help this time.

  • Bully….exactly the word I was looking for. His constant overconfident blah-DE-blah with his weak supporting evidence actually makes me think, the guy must’ve had a terrible past or something….HE GOT ISSUES.

@dc: 4-5 occasions for 4-5 seconds……and where he dotted him?? As soon as he complained about his behavior. Anyways, you know him. He dots more that he chats. The guy can not stand his defeat.

@Ijaz Brother: Alhamdulillah! You did a great job by exposing his ‘fallacy of bully-vocation’ that rules his room……May Allah reward you with more courage and wisdom in dawah.

  • Assalamu Alaikum, isn’t the unedited version available ?

  • Hey Ijaz
Where’s my answer is the Masjid al Haram the Ka’bah? Because the actual mosque was built yet.

  • Finally, you answer y question. Yes, Masjid al Haram is known as the Kaba and the precinct directly surrounding it.

  • Im a catholic and yes i deplore sam shamoun’s lack of civility and rude behavior but it shocks me how upset Muslims when they can be just as abusive. just last week a Muslim i was trying to have a dialogue with called me a pagan meat triplet worshiper “crosstian,” then mocked Jesus like the atheists do calling him jebus and ventured to call me a “bloody idiot” and “stupid”. Once i even had a muslim give me a death threat. I know some Christians can have poor manners as well but Muslims can be equally as bad and then they complain about us which is hypocrisy. Anyway what i want to know is why do Muslim apologists always debate evangelical apologists never actual christian biblical scholars and theologians

  • Franciscano10 – incidentally, the Evangelical movement is among the fastest growing in the United States and thus that makes it very difficult – it’s very hard to pacify such a large mass of people being fed sheer lies; in my experience I’ve found that those of this particular persuasion are the ones that can be the least accepting of Islamic doctrine.

Much like the earliest Christians scholars of Islam – in many cases, though not all, Catholics – often accused Muslims of being heathens and so forth in terms of their beliefs. I recall reading many a book (the authors escape me for the moment) where there was such a depressing, denigrating tone taken against Muslim belief – but the Catholic Church is more or less secure in its belief now – Islam isn’t as such the ‘menace’ it was once seen to be. But in my experience, this isn’t as easily the case in the Evangelical circles. That aside, of course, it’s good that you can see deplorable behaviour generally. I was beginning to wonder as to why no Christians seemed to be speaking out against some of the stuff you see on a certain television programme on Islam… but of course in similar or recordings there has been a torrent of abuse directed at Muslims and their creed, their prophet – their understanding of God. Surely we should be able to move away from just quoting Scripture at each other alone – and try to rationally discuss these topics philosophically, dialectically, honestly.

Whatever you can say about how some Muslims react, that of course cannot ever explain the terrible behaviour exhibited by our Christian brothers of whom I speak – I, too, find it awful when some Muslims act without civility but that doesn’t justify some of the disgusting behaviour – both in the academic sense of having total contempt for facts – as well as in the manner in which this evangelism occurs.

  • I agree that evangelicals are very deceptive and constantly attack other faiths but Islam is their latest target they have been doing it to Catholics for hundreds of years ever since the published the book the two Babylons which indicated that the whore of Babylon in revelation was the catholic church, Catholics are pagans and that the doctrine of transubstantiation comes from some pagan priests in egypt who consumed the flesh of osirus .Some evangelicals attack the pope and call him the anti-christ etc All of these things are nonsensical and lack proof. I have even seen muslims use protestant arguments asserting that we worship saints and Mary as god’s and that we worship statues as representations of our many “gods”. This is such a distortion of catholic theology I do not know where to begin as we rather view them solely as human beings but pray to them for their intercession as we believe they are eternally joined to the body of christ.. As for Christians scholars accusing Muslims of being heathens I can say that that is a two way street and Muslim scholars accuse us of being heathen polytheists. The Koran itself is a polemic against Christianity in this regard, misrepresenting our views on the trinity. I have been accused numerous times of being a pagan by Muslims even by an individual who will remain anonymous on this website. The catholic church is tolerant of Islam and does not try to openly oppose it like evangelicals do. All we want is to be free to practice our religion and for the many attacks on our faith made by Muslims, other Christians and atheists/secularists to stop. Catholicism is the most abused religion in the media. Our beliefs are denigrated and our history always attacked in such a way that if Islam was attacked in such a way there would be grave protests. Philip Jenkins a professor of religious history was right when he declared that anti-catholocism is the last acceptable prejudice. If you ask the average person on the street in the west about the catholic church they would probably say something like Catholics are pedophiles, mention the crusades or the inquisition. This is the popular opinion of the church in many western countries which is a distorted caricature. Not just this but Jesus is constantly mocked and abused by the media. I remember one south park episode that was going to air a depiction of Mohammad after the whole danish controversy but the producers forced them not to so instead they depicted Jesus being defecated upon or defecating upon the American flag, i cannot remember. This is how abused Jesus and the church is in the west and i have never seen the media produce anything so vicious against any other religion. The main reason American evangelicals are so obsessed with Islam i’d say is a result of 911 and their support for Israel. I just find it all to often that both evangelical Christians and Muslim apologists use ad hominem attacks on each other but i will be the first to admit that shamoun and CP are quite bad and i in no way condone their trash talking but that does not reflect on Christianity but rather it reflects upon them just as if a Muslim does something wrong it does not reflect on Islam. Shamoun does not represent Christianity he is just a christian so we should not judge the religion on the basis of him . Evangelicals are the fastest growing everywhere in the west divorcing the bible from sacred christian tradition. They distort people’s views of the church and scripture. I in no way approve of them or the weird interpretations they come up with

I disagree with some of you views but I can see you have intellect and respect that is absent in you evangelical counterparts. I find Orthodox/Catholics far more intelligent to converse with.

  • Hi Ijaz
I can’t this article is being shown online. Where in the koran is the city Jeruslalem mentioned as the furthest mosque, which was the question that was asked?
Can you show me where Jerusalem is mentioned in the koran?

  • Does the Qur’aan need to mention that Jerusalem is Bayt al Maqdis? Jerusalem since the time of Noah’s sons (from Ham) was known as the city of the Jebusites. In the Pentateuch, where does Moses, or YHWH identify the city of the Jebusites as Jerusalem?

Nowhere. So if YHWH didn’t mention it in the Penateuch, then for a few thousand years no believer in YHWH knew of Mount Zion/ Temple Mount/ Jerusalem?

    See how logic works?
